  • The process follows the TUM format: kick-off, mid-term meeting, final presentation and written report.

What it’s about

EPDs are published by dozens of program operators across Europe, each with its own database. ECO Platform aggregates many of them, but often months late and never completely. Existing search tools rely on that single source. We want a tool that connects directly to the program operators, stays current and shows every EPD with its data, authors and validity.

The project framework is only a possible proposal and can always be adapted and refined by the students. We look forward to your suggestions and pitches!

Tasks and outcomes

  • Analyse the program operator landscape: data access routes, APIs, their costs and relevance.
  • Build the data model, ingestion and hosting that runs cost-effectively.
  • Create the backend and search frontend with a detail page per EPD showing defined data points.
  • Develop a go-to-market plan to launch the tool and drive stakeholder adoption.
  • Deploy the tool.

Profile

  • Team of 2 to 5 students with at least one member who codes.
  • Technical affinity, no computer science degree required.
  • Curiosity for data, APIs and how institutions share information.
  • Ownership mindset: you want something live at the end.
  • Fluent English, German is a plus.

What you gain

  • A public product with your name on it, used across the entire construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience across data, product, deployment and marketing in one project.
  • Deep insight into the European environmental data landscape and its players.
  • A working student position or long-term role after the project.
